Tenno Characterization in Warframe Fanfics [Now Discussing Fanfics & Ideas] (2024)

So like I said, "you don't seem to understand how the Tenno work and are falling into the fanon misconception that the Tenno are actual mercenaries that work for whoever pays them". Like, it's very clearly you only take things at face value with Warframe.

Even aside from you outright making sh*t up while failing to realize how it blows holes in your own arguments:

The Tenno don't exactly have good experience with governments. Not large scale ones, anyway. To them, big government isn't 1000 generations of peace, it's the tyranny of the Orokin, the Grineer, and the Corpus.

Even aside from the fact that the Tenno aren't so utterly braindead that they can't figure out that Government A and Government B are different things, they also never express this supposed "Anti-Centralized power" perspective you claim they have at any point in the entire story of Warframe. And even if they did that'd be against you "Oh they'd totally work for the Hutts" since they and the many crime Syndicates in the rim are also Large Scale Governments and centralized powers themselves, especially to the Tenno who come from a environment where controlling one Star System made you giant in scale.

Like, the Tenno's "Mercenary" persona is very much just that, a persona. The Tenno take large scale jobs for practically nothing because their actual goals have little to nothing to do with profit margins or wanting wealth. They won't work for just anyone if that someone offers them money.

The Tenno aren't some group of Mercenaries who are in it for the money who'd be stupid enough to trust a group like the Hutts over... just about most anything. They work for almost nothing, mostly make money or gather resources themselves (usally through just stealing, or literally going out and grabbing it themselves with say mining or fishing as examples), and notably will even work for tags they can trade in for plushies.

they side with Groups because said group either wants the same general thing "IE, protecting the people from groups like the grineer or corpus" or because it's a situation bad enough that they can't afford to be picky/slash need to play them off another. And the Crime Syndicates (especially the Hutts), fall into neither one of those categories.

New Loka, are racist anti-vaxxers.

Could you please stop spewing stuff you've made up? New Loka aren't "Anti-vaxxers" if you are going to make a argument you should try not lying.

If you are going that far back then you'd be writing in a time period we know little about, and the Tenno's involvement would lead to the Trade Federation becoming something that'd only share a name with it's canon counterpart, at which point why both involving them at all if you are changing that much?

The Trade Federation formed in 350 BBY, that's a whole lot of years to have anything from Warframe running around before we even begin seeing stuff we'd recognize from the Prequel time. Like you could do it but it does bring up the question of "Why" since it'd be set during a time frame we don't have much of any details on and it'd involve interactions that would likely make the Trade Federation unrecognizable. Not to mention, if the Trade Federation reallly are just "Mediating trade disputes" then why would they even need the Tenno involved? Tenno are good at violence not economic policy.

They should be aware enough to know that a Tenno fighting the Infestation should not be bothered, as they are doing what amounts to community service.

To be fair, the Tenno also kill the Infested so easily that one squad of spectres is probably going to be the most interesting part of the mission unless you are on Deimos. The Infested are scary to most people in the system, but for Tenno they may as well be a joke outside of a few very specific situations.

At this point I think the Syndicate hit squads made out of Specters is the Origin System's equivalent of an angry e-mail.

Colaymorak said:

Well, specter particles are fairly disposable and they're aimed at the System's ultimate killers. I think you may be on to something.

Plus the Spectres sent sometimes drop a BP, so if anything they can be a net boon for the Tenno in question ;v
