Mrs. Frances Modean (Totty) Edwards, resident of Edwardsville, near Cherry Valley, Arkansas, departed this life on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 88. Modean was born near the Pleasant Hill Community on Wednesday, December 9, 1931, the daughter of Ms. Pearl (McGarrity) Totty. Modean attended school at Vanndale, and on July 31, 1948, she and Mr. Jack Edwards were united in marriage. Modean was a lifelong member of Sharpe’s Chapel Church of God. She loved her church and church family, and was a choir leader and children’s choir leader. Mrs. Edwards worked at Addison Shoe in Wynne, Rainfair in Forrest City, and as a personal caregiver. She enjoyed cooking for and caring for her family, sewing, and singing hymns and gospel songs. Modean was loved by all who knew her, and will be dearly missed. Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl Totty; a brother, Paul Totty; a son, Harold Delane Edwards; a grandson, Richard Delane Edwards; and a great-granddaughter, Kayla Yarbrough. She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Jack Edwards of the home; two sons, Jimmy Edwards and wife, Nellie, and Wade Edwards and wife, Gail, all of Cherry Valley; a daughter, Glynis Headley and husband, Roy, of Cherry Valley; a daughter-in-law; Sue Edwards; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. June Bullington resident of McCrory, Arkansas and lifelong resident of Woodruff County departed this life on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from the Saline Memorial Hospital of Little Rock at the age of 84. She was born in the Tipp Community on June 1, 1934 and was the daughter of Ralph Ewing and Dossie Ruby Ward Gardner. Mrs. Bullington was a graduate of McCrory High School and on May 24, 1952 she married Roy Elwood Bullington who had preceded her in death on March 2, 1998. She was a longtime member of the Faith Missionary Baptist Church of McCrory where she played the piano and organ, taught Sunday school, worked in the nursery, sang in the choir and was the memorial chairman for many years. Mrs. Bullington had also played the organ for many funerals throughout the years at the Thompson-Wilson McCrory Funeral Home. She was a member of the Fakes Chapel Extension Homemakers’ Club and the McCrory Girls’ Bowling League. Mrs. Bullington enjoyed traveling, working in her yard, sewing, cooking, canning, was an avid quilter and enjoyed playing cards with her favorite game being Rook. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bullington is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Dossie Gardner, her husband, Roy Elwood Bullington, two sisters, Mary Mackensen and Ruby Armstrong.
